The company was founded in 1986 by two Indian entrepreneurs, Bharat Goenka and Shyam Goenka. The Goenkas started the company with the aim of providing affordable and easy-to-use accounting software to small businesses in India.

Tally’s flagship product, Tally.ERP 9, is a complete business management software solution. It offers a range of features, including accounting, inventory management, GST, payroll, and more.
