Gyanchand Joshi (born 6 December 1948) is an Indian academician and educationist, who served as the Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. He is also the recipient of the Dr. B. P. Pal Memorial Award of Indian National Science Academy.

Joshi was born on 6 December 1948 in village Dangra of district Bhiwani, Haryana. His father, Shri Gian Chand was a school teacher and his mother Smt. Sheela Devi was a homemaker. He completed his schooling from Dangra and then his graduation (B.Sc.) in Agriculture from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar in 1970. He completed his post-graduation (M.Sc.) in Agronomy from CCSHAU in 1972 and Ph.D. in Agronomy from CCSHAU in 1976.

Joshi started his career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy, CCSHAU, Hisar in 1976. He became the Head of the Department of Agronomy in 1988. He served as the Dean, College of Agriculture, CCSHAU,
